From the top it wasn’t spectacular but once we walked down into the valley to see the Circular pool, the colours came out and it was just beautiful. The rock walls, rich in iron, were formed by sediment that settled at the bottom of what was once a vast ocean. Earth movements raised these subsequently and the water eroded these amazing gorges. The landscape out here is full of these interesting looking trees, some of which grow to be as old as 1000 years. This one in particular was used by the police in the late 1800’s to store prisoners whilst transporting them to Derby. The trunk of the tree is completely hollow and has only a small opening. […]

It is a city with new buildings, but not that many buildings. The layout is awkward and the people not that friendly. But worst of all is that it is not campervan friendly!
